February 16, 2023 – Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer CBS Detroit Live On-Air Interview

CBS Detroit Kylee Miller Interviews Team USA Ice Dancers Eva Pate & Logan Bye before the February 16, 2023 Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer event at Campus Martius Park. The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation partnered with the Downtown Detroit Partnership and Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute for an ice show that was free to public. The show featured local skaters as well as ice dancers Eva Pate and Logan Bye and U.S. National Champion Alissa Czisny.

February 3, 2023 – Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer Ice Show

February 16 @ 6:00 pm EST

For the fifth consecutive year, ice skating legend Scott Hamilton is bringing his Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ fundraiser and ice show back to The Rink at Campus Martius Park presented by Visit Detroit. The free, outdoor event takes place on Thursday, Feb. 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature special performances by two-time U.S. National Champion Alissa Czisny, Team USA Ice Dancers Eva Pate and Logan Bye as well as performances from the top local fundraisers.

Proceeds benefit the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and the Detroit-based Karmanos Cancer Institute.

November 5, 2022 – Team USA Earns Two Top Five Finishes to Close the Grand Prix de France

Team USA wrapped up Grand Prix de France on Saturday with top-five finishes from Audrey Shin in the women’s event and Eva Pate and Logan Bye in ice dance.

The event, in Angers, France, was the third of six in the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series.

March 28, 2022 – Sk8 to Eliminate Cancer Show Detroit 2022

On Feb. 10, the fourth annual Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer ice show – a fundraiser on behalf of the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute – took over the rink at Campus Martius Park

The event featured U.S. ice-dancing champs Eva Pate, Logan Bye, and Daniel Palmeri as well as skaters from local clubs who have been fundraising for the Karmanos Cancer Institute and CARES, the nonprofit dedicated to cancer research, education, and survivorship launched by figure skater Hamilton, an Olympic gold medalist and cancer survivor.

September 18, 2021 – United States Earns Three Medals to Close 2021 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic

The United States captured three medals on Saturday night to close the 2021 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic in Norwood, Massachusetts. Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue won gold and Eva Pate and Logan Bye earned bronze in ice dance, while Gabriella Izzo grabbed the bronze medal in the women’s competition at the Skating Club of Boston. In total, the United States collected five medals at the event.

June 2, 2021 – Logan Bye Earns Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering to Give Back to His Community

Logan Bye is a master of self-motivation.

He and ice dance partner Eva Pate competed in just their second season as a team in 2020-21 with few competitions and no crowds, but Bye also graduated from college in May.

The 23-year-old completed his master’s degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Michigan. He balanced being a full-time student with being an elite figure skater, and spent his last year-plus of college entirely online.

February 25, 2021 – Tri-C Student Lands at U.S. Figure Skating Championships

Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) student Eva Pate keeps her talent on ice.

Now, Pate and her ice dance partner, Logan Bye, finished seventh at the 2021 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. The national competition recently took place at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 20-year-old is studying small business management at the College and balancing classes with her training with Team USA.

February 20, 2020 – Strongsville native skating her dream

While Strongsville resident Eva Pate was watching the 2014 Winter Olympics, she told her mom she wanted to become an elite ice skater.

Now, six years later, Pate, 19, and her partner on and off the ice, Logan Bye, 21, are part of Team USA for the upcoming season and will have the opportunity to travel the world to compete in skating championships.
